What Plant Sugar Kitchen is All About

When I started this website and even when I began sharing content on the Plant Sugar Instagram it was incredibly overwhelming. Living in a world where there is so much competition to compare ourselves, it was hard for me to stay completely motivated.

At the end of the day we are all our own person, so worrying about silly things like that is wasted energy. What matters most is diving into what you are most passionate about. Most of us are battling some sort of mental illness on a daily basis, so I truly feel how important it is to do the things that fuel us and bring us the most happiness – and that is exactly why I wanted to start this page.

The best part about it so far has to be all of the support I’ve been receiving from not only people I know, but from people all around the world that take time to give me a thumbs up or ask me questions or message me the most amazing positive feedback. It is things like that that remind me how silly my brain can be on those days where I am feeling anxious and unmotivated.

In conclusion, I have created this page to share what I am most passionate about, and I hope you find yourself feeling that in each and every recipe. We are all creative creatures at heart, so why not thrive off of each others devotion?

Don’t Put Too Much Pressure on Yourself

In this world where society is rapidly changing for the better and sometimes for the worst, it is important that we all stay grounded to our own selves without being soaked up into the judgement and negativity that a lot of people tend to embrace. We’ve got trendy diets, trendy workout routines, pressure to lose or gain weight to look like those insane Instagram models, and then of course we will always have bullies that will want nothing but for you to fail. No matter what your challenge or struggle is, do not put too much pressure on yourself.

We were created to flow into this life in whatever way that means for each and every one of us. Some deal with depression, anxiety, personality disorders, body dysmorphia, had a terrible childhood, or maybe even all of the above. These are all terrible imbalances that can make simply living life a disaster. Whatever life is throwing at you, we need to remind ourselves of how lucky we are to be alive in this world and what is right in front of us.

Have you ever had that moment where maybe you decide to take a walk on the beach, and for a single moment you stop and stare in silence to witness just how incredible and vast the ocean is, how the waves crash onto the shore every second of every day, how science hasn’t even become close to figuring out what the heck is going on out there? Or maybe you go out hiking and find yourself zoning out on a flowing river, or you are on a tall mountain looking out at how enormous this world is – those moments are the epitome of human existence.

We were brought into this world only knowing what our parents or guardians or teachers provide us, but how often can you remember them teaching you how to stay grounded to your self? How to practice self love, how to be in love, how to fall out of love, how to be a good friend, or any of those situations where you just feel lost?

Whatever you are battling in your mind or body, focus on what small steps you can take to transform yourself into a more positive state – no matter how impossible that may seem.

If there is anyone out there reading this that needs help, or even just a friend, or someone to vent to, I am here for you, and appreciate you more than anything for taking time out of your day/night to read this post.

Recipes of the Week

A huge goal of mine here is to keep this page as consistent as possible, so I wanted to write this here to inform everyone that you can expect AT LEAST one recipe per week, but I promise I’ll do my best to post more than that.

Right now the whole world is dealing with this dang COVID-19, and I hope anyone who is reading this find themselves well. During these times we need to remind ourselves of what is really important. With most of us having busy schedules, it sure does feel insane to have all of this forced free time – but now more than ever is the time to connect with what drives you. For any essential workers reading this, I feel for you so much having to put yourselves in danger of catching this virus. Before we know it, this will be something in the past and we will be looking back to these strange times, but for now I think it is an incredible way to realize how transformative this world can be, and how important human connection is.

For those who were laid off for months now and are battling anxiety or perhaps loneliness, think of things that you have been dying to do, but maybe didn’t have too much time for it with a typical busy schedule. Aside from all of the negativity we constantly hear about, it has been amazing to see so many people sharing their home workouts, playing tons of music, having the time to work on some art, and of course the abundance of people who have the time to prepare meals for their families in quarantine.

With all of that being said, I am so excited to have found this way to express myself and hope more than anything that you guys will all enjoy the content I will be sharing with you!
