Serves a Party of 2

These smoothie bowls are another recipe I’ve been anticipating to prepare for a good while now, and I couldn’t be happier to be here sharing it with you guys.
Being only the second time making them, I definitely need to get better at the smoothie part of this recipe, as I definitely added a bit too much water and ended up having it spill over the sides, but I am confident that the recipe I’ll explain down below will be pretty dang close to the perfect thick and presentable smoothie mixture to pour into your carved papaya bowl.
The smoothie mixture contains frozen bananas, frozen strawberries, frozen blueberries, spirulina powder, freshly squeezed orange juice, and water.
Papayas can be a little intimidating when first cutting them in half, but after scooping out the goopy bits and creating a bowl shape, I promise they present a flavor that is super unique and matches perfectly with the cold, refreshing, and sweet smoothie to be topped with dragon fruit, hemp hearts and chia seeds.
Ingredients:
- 1 Papaya
- 1 Dragon Fruit
- 2 Frozen Bananas
- 1/2 Cup of Frozen Strawberries
- 1/2 Cup of Frozen Blueberries
- 3/4 Cup of Water
- 1/2 Cup of Freshly Squeezed Orange Juice (optional)
- 1 Teaspoon of Spirulina Powder
Begin by prepping the papaya.
Cut the papaya in half as shown above, then scoop out and discard the seeds and guts of each half until you have a smooth and beautiful bowl shape.
In a high speed blender, pulse together the bananas, strawberries, blueberries, spirulina powder, water, and orange juice if you decide to use it. I happened to have a jar of orange juice I had squeezed from about 8 oranges a few days prior to making these, and it really added a nice citrusy flavor to the smoothie. If you have oranges laying around, squeeze the heck out of them into the blender or use an extra 1/2 cup of water.
Equally pour the smoothie into each half of the carved papaya.
Next, cut the dragon fruit in half, then using a small scooper or even spoon of your choice, drop down about 5 small scoops of the dragon fruit.
Finally, sprinkle on the hemp hearts and chia seeds and dig in before the dang thing melts all over the place.
